ABOUT COMPANY

Pieces of Time was established in 1992. Our retail shop is located in Newington, Connecticut. All watch repair is done on the premises by the owner, Rick Littlefield. Our workshop is set up with the tools and equipment needed to meet the high standards of modern watchmaking. What sets us apart is that unlike a so-called "production shop", we prize quality over volume and we do not do wholesale work.

Rick received his professional training at The American Watchmaker & Clockmaker Institute's Academy of Watchmaking and holds two watchmaking certifications. In addition, he completed the AWCI Project Extend Course in American Pocketwatches and the AWCI Continuing Education Course "Introduction to Precision Timing" taught by Antoine Simonin. In September 2004 he traveled to Switzerland to attend a training course at the ETA Technical Training Center. He is a member of AWCI and its affiliated Chronometer Club, the NAWCC and The British Horological Society.

Before becoming a professional watchmaker, Rick was a collector and his interest in horology began 26 years ago. A watchmaker who is also a collector approaches restoration work with a perspective that goes beyond technical ability and having the proper tools and equipment. The ability to do quality restoration work requires both experience and respect for the integrity and authenticity of the timepiece. We have an extensive inventory of spare parts acquired over the last 22 years which enables us to restore your timepiece in the truest sense of the word.
