Elgin Ladies 14K Gold Hunter C-1892 #13194 Price $650
Here we have a stunning ladies Elgin hunter style pocketwatch **C-1892** in truly incredible condition. 126 YEARS OLD!
The solid 14K gold hunter case is in wonderful shape and measures 36.8mm and the movement is a 3/0 size. The front lid of the case is engraved with one of the most intricate monograms we've ever seen. But even nicer still, the back of the case features a fleur-de-lis peace lily inlaid with 7 hand cut diamonds and a ruby at the center. We took a good look at the gems under magnification and no 2 surfaces are exactly alike, the hallmark of hand cutting. The lid is lined extra thick with gold to hold the gems in their settings. Very high quality! And in beautiful untouched condition with minimal signs of use.
The porcelain dial looks excellent with Roman numeral markers and blued steel hands. Its original glass crystal completes the all-original package. At 126 years old, the condition is just amazing.
The price includes full restoration and repair. The work will be performed after purchase. This entails proper service of the movement, a new mainspring, and anything else that would be necessary to bring the watch into proper working order. Case cleaning and refinishing are also included. The extent of case refinishing, if any will be left up to the new owner.
Once you've made your purchase, please contact us so we may discuss the restoration and case refinishing.
Please allow 1-2 weeks after purchase for service to be completed.
Our goal is to achieve what we refer to as "Sympathetic Restoration"; in other words, bringing the watch back as close as possible to its original appearance without the need to remove all signs of its former life. We don't want to dramatically change its history.
During the restoration, we only use we only use period-correct parts, and in most cases, genuine factory parts from the same time period as the watch.
