Rolex Bubbleback ref. #6011 14K Item #1680 Sold

Simply outstanding condition. This solid gold Bubbleback dates to 1951 and is in all original condition. The dial has never been refinished. It even retains its original Super Oyster crown. This timepiece and the Bubbleback ref. #5011 are the same watch, but the 5011 has the much more common screw-down crown. While the 6011 features the Super Oyster, non-screw down crown. Many of the examples you see have been converted to the screw down type. Maybe because a lack of knowledge or more likely because the Super Oysters are much harder to find. This watch has all its original parts.

The watch has been in my personal collection for some time. It looks like it was gently used and than very seldom. Since I have owned it the case has not been polished or refinished in any way. It was only cleaned when the movement was serviced and a new mainspring was installed. If you look closely at the case you will see some light signs of use and the dial and hands do have some color change due to age. But that is pretty much it. Take a look at the movement pictures. Super clean with no discoloration, no signs of rust or poor workmanship. It is in beautiful condition.
