Longines Olympian High Frequency Item #2462 Sold
Complete and as close to New Old Stock as you could hope to find! This 1970’s Longines Olympian comes complete with its original hang tag, signed strap, and signed buckle. The total package and untouched!
The dial on this watch is all original and incredibly detailed. The background is a matte, sunburst bronze, accented with a flat, matte golden yellow ring around the hour markers. The markers are high polished goldtone with matte accents on top. Matching painted/goldtone hands and a contrasting day/date window at 3 top it all off. You just don’t see details like this on watches today, even on expensive watches. The rich colors, textures, and accents are like nothing out there now.
The watch is housed in a fully signed gold electroplated and stainless steel case. It’s a good size measuring 37mm square and wears like a considerably larger watch. The original finish bezel looks outstanding with an original swirled sunburst pattern that looks very cool. It almost moves in the light. The caseback is Longines signed.
Powering the watch is a in-house Longines Caliber 6272 manual wind movement with 17 jewels. Take a look at the movement pictures and you will see it is extremely well made and very high grade. The movement has been serviced and is running well with good timekeeping.
To complete the package the watch comes on its original Longines signed strap made of genuine turtle. When do you ever come across turtle hide? The strap is in wonderful shape with its original, signed Longines buckle. A great look!
