Omega Seamaster Automatic Gold Cap ref. #14363 Item #2533 SOLD
Wonderful condition on this Omega Seamaster reference #14363 with a seldom seen extended-lug case. This one features a high polish gold capped (solid gold over stainless steel) case that measures 34.4mm across without the crown, and 43.2mm from lug tip to lug tip. The lugs extend past the case with incredible detail that we wouldn’t quite call hooded or horned, but maybe a little of both. With so many different angles and edges, this is one watch you’ll never get tired of looking at!
The case is in very good condition at any age, let alone at 50 years old. If you take a look at the 7th and 8th photo, you’ll see that “Seamaster” and “Waterproof” are still nice and visible on the caseback.
The watch also features a champagne dial with its original finish. It has just the slightest bit of aging. It’s accented with wide, applied goldtone markers with wonderful facets. A matching set of dauphine style hands tops it all off.
Powering the watch is the in-house Caliber 500 fully automatic movement with 17 jewels, marked “Adjusted to 2 Positions”. The very first of the famous 500 Series Omega movements!
The watch has just undergone a full restoration including a new mainspring. It’s running well and keeping very good time. We installed a correct period, signed Omega crystal. We also managed to track down a correct period Seamaster crown. The case was completely disassembled and lightly refinished before being ultrasonically cleaned. It’s paired with a heavy, handmade Italian leather sport strap with accent stitching.
